Storefront for Art and Architecture 2015 Spring Benefit

Transfigured, transparent, translucent, transsexual, transatlantic, transcendent. Transversally transform transactions of generosity and capital at the 2015 Spring Benefit.

Last Tuesday, April 21st, 2015, Storefront for Art and Architecture celebrated over three decades of advancing innovative positions and providing a platform for dialogue and collaboration across disciplinary, ideological, and geographic boundaries.

Storefront’s 2015 Spring benefit was the first public event to be held at 432 Park Avenue designed by Rafael Viñoly , prior to the official opening of the building. The event honored artist Do Ho Suh and architect Thom Mayne, internationally recognized figures who have participated in Storefront programming throughout the years.

Carol Burton, Pati Nuñez, Antoni Muntadas & Andrés Jaque

This year’s theme, TRANS, focused on particular aspects within the work of the honorees, including including transcultural and transparent aspects of Do Ho Suh’s materialization of architecture elements, as well as Thom Mayne’s transgressive form making.

A silent auction featuring TRANS-themed works by artists, architects, and designers allowed benefit guests to take home artworks with transformative power while supporting and benefiting Storefront for Art and Architecture’s mission and programs.
